As an archaeologist accustomed to both the ancient and modern nuances found across the globe, I recently spent a night at Hotel California and left with mixed feelings regarding its value proposition. the hotel boasts a prime location between two metro stations, making public transportation accessible for those eager to explore nearby sites. My spacious room featured high ceilings and was bathed in natural light, complemented by a comfortable bed and a clean washroom. A flat-screen TV that failed to work and a heating system that struggled left an impression of neglect. While the hotel offers free toiletries and decent wi-fi, the absence of more comprehensive room services, such as breakfast, was disappointing. Considering the price point, the experience felt more like a budget stay than a luxury one, particularly alongside the challenges I faced during check-in. For travelers weighing luxury against value, this accommodation may suffice for short stays, but do manage your expectations.
